Functional Fitness: Overhead Press

Doug is back!

In this week’s episode of Functional Fitness, Doug Zakaras–MOVE founder and CrossFit certified trainer–teaches Sienna how to properly perform a weighted overhead press.

This is a simple but functional move that you can do at home to strengthen the upper body, as well as core and back muscles, and improve posture.

It’s easy to do with whatever you have around the home.  Sienna is using a dumbbell here, but you could try it with anything from a textbook to a gallon of milk to your dog!  (ok, maybe the dog is a bad idea….) Even simple weighted exercises like this done a few times a week can be so great for your strength and muscle tone!
