Begin Coaching With Summit

By completing the Summit Coach Licensing process. Once completed you prove you are eligible to work with youth, have an education on safety and best practices for when you are around underage minors. You will also gain valuable knowledge to support the development of their riding, by following the Summit Training Systems to prepare them for the future in riding and life.

If you are paid by Summit Bike Club, you will need to submit additional information. Contact for more information.

Step 1

Register with Summit

Submit your coaches membership and once all following steps are completed full coach benefits will be applied to your account.

Step 2

Background Check

Complete a background check through Summit’s system with NCSI. Before starting your background check view full instructions and have all needed materials in place with you. Checks usually take 10 business days.

Summit will be paying for your background check, and we will be notified and be able to view a cleared (or not) designation once completed. Make sure you answer followup emails/phone calls from NCSI as may be needed.

Step 3

Heads UP Concussion

Complete a concussion training through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention HEADS UP to Youth Sports. Have approximately an hour set aside to complete the training.

Safe Sport

Complete Safe Sport training through Summit’s system with the US Center for Safesport. You will need to create an account before starting your training. View full instructions and have 90, or more minutes, available to complete the training.

The Safe Sport training is paid by Summit and will need to be completed every other year. Summit will receive notification upon completion.

Fast Start to Coaching

Summit Fast Start is our education system to provide you as a coach the foundational pieces to provide valuable educational experience for your athletes. From best practices, understanding of curriculum, skills overviews, and more, you’ll be able to become a more effective coach.

Step 6

First Aid & CPR

Complete a First Aid and CPR training in person. Your chapter lead may be scheduling a First Aid and CPR session for coaches, so check with them prior to completing on your own. Higher certifications than basic First Aid and CPR are also accepted.
